Red alert has been sounded by police in East Champaran district in view of the Bharat Bandh call given by Maoists central committee on Monday against the price rise, corruption and alleged anti people police of central government.
East Champaran SP Paras Nath has asked the SHOs of all police stations to conduct combing operations to flush out the extremists from the border areas. The police are in a state of alert in the wake of appearance and of Maoist literature under Dhaka and Rajepur police station areas on Saturday.
According to sources, police patrol along the Raxaul-Bairganiya and Narkatiyaganj-Muzaffarpur section of the ECR had been intensified in the view of Bharat Bandh call given by the Maoists on Monday. Maoists also killed one Gautam Pandey of Madhu Chhapra village under pipra police station on Saturday night. Heavy concentration of Maoists felt since last year in these areas.
Maoists are shocked over the arrest of their top leader Nukul ji along six others a few days back from Ambedkar Hostel in Chhapra.
