Goa is the best place in India for a child to be born in while Madhya Pradesh is the worst. Overall, infant mortality rate [IMR] in India has fallen from 53 infants per 1000 live births in 2008 to 50 in 2009. Goa has recorded the least no. of infant deaths/1000 live births-11. Kerala followed close behind at-12, with Manipur at-16 and Madhya Pradesh-67 deaths per 1,000 live births. Really MP data is very unsatisfactory and needs much improvement towards children welfare in the state.
