Talks to End Stir Fail To Make Headway,
Talks between the junior Doctors Association and the senior doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital and the Indian Medical Association [ IMA ], Bihar state branch representatives to end the four-day-old strike of junior doctors in the state failed on Thursday as the agitating doctors stuck to their demand for arrest of the Belaganj RJD MLA, Surendra Prasad Yadav.
It is alleged that Yadav had ordered his bodyguards to open fire on junior doctors at the Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital [ANMMC], Gaya, on Sunday night in which two interns sustained injuries.
The junior doctors of all 6 govt medical college hospitals in Bihar went on an indefinite strike from Sunday night itself in protest against the incident. Though the police had arrested the 2 bodyguards who fired at the interns, they failed to arrest the MLA who is underground since then and already his bail petition rejected by the court. The police may arrest him very soon, but doctors look adamant on strike without caring the suffering of the poor peoples which may be treated a heartless acts on behalf of doctors and it will go against their profession also. The law will take its own course against the MLA, but doctors should break their strike, unconditionally immediately in the larger interest of public and the state of Bihar.
