Comprehensive Information on Bihar 2010 Assembly Election, Politicians and General Bihar Politics

An elderly couple was killed by their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to get insurance money at Gaura village under Begusarai’s Tegra police station on Monday night.

Police said Nageshwar Jha -75 and his wife Tara-70 were sleeping on the verandah of their house when Tara was woken up by one of her two grandsons taken inside the house.  As she entered the house, her son Mrityunjay pounced upon her and started strangulating her.

She raised an alarm, prompting her husband to rush in. He was, however, overpowered by his two grandsons who strangled him to death.  Mrityunjay and his wife, meanwhile, killed the old woman.

Begusarai SP Vinay Kumar said the heartless Killers tried to burn the bodies with the help of kerosene right in front of their house, when neighbors spotted the half-burnt bodies in the morning and confronted  Mrityunjay, he feigned ignorance.

“He, however, broke down when police interrogated him,” the SP said and added Mrityunjay and his wife, two sons and a daughter have been arrested.

Police said while Nageshwar was a village priest, Tara was a retired government school teacher and had an insurance policy worth Rs 1.25 lakh in her name.  Besides the greed for the insurance money, Mrityunjay was also nursing a grudge against his mother for giving her daughter a part of the money she received after her retirement for purchase of a plot of land.

Heinous crimes committed by own son & great sons on their own parents had crossed all boundaries of human relationship & blood relations. These butchers must be punished heavily with iron hands, so that no one dares to commit such type of crimes even in dream.
