Medicare in premier hospitals of the state remained paralyzed on Wednesday too as junior doctors of all the 6 medical colleges of Bihar continued their strike for the 3rd consecutive day in protest against assault on two of their colleagues at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital [ANMMCH] by the bodyguards of Belaganj RJD MLA Surendra Yadav on Sunday night.
The agitating doctors have been demanding arrest of the MLA along with fool-proof security to them at the work place and enforcement of the medical protection Act in the state.
Asenior doctor of Patna Medical College and Hospital said, “The emergency services remained badly hit on Tuesday/Wednesday due to on going strike. However, the out door patient departments [OPDs] were partially effected.
On the Gaya District Policemen’s Association threat to go on strike if the arrested of the two bodyguards of MLA not rescinded. ADG [HQ] P K Thakur said the matter was under under consideration. Doctors should call off their strike immediately in the public interest, already more than 3 dozen dead and many suffering due to uncalled for strike. RJD general secretary said that MLA is innocent and he has done nothing wrong, doctors furiated baselessly without lawful reasons.
