Motorcycle-borne criminals looted over Rs 3.61 lakh cash from two employees of a private finance company close to the office of Danapur SDPO under Danapur police station on Friday afternoon.
Police said that Akhilesh and Pramod, the two employees of S K S Microfinance, were on the way to the Punjab National Bank [PNB] branch at Danapur Bazaar from their office at Anand Bazzar on a motorcycle. As they reached near the office of Danapur SDPO at about 3.15 pm, four criminals riding two motor cycles, over took them and forced them to stop their motorcycle. The criminals then snatched the cash and sped away from there. City SP Manu Maharaj said that that the statements of both the employees differ though they were moving on the same motorcycle. The incident took place at a crowded place and there was no one who witnessed the incident, he said. Jakkanpur police on Friday arrested 3 persons, including two women, in connection with the killing of one Kavita-26 at Bigrahpur locality on Thursday night allegedly for dowry.
The deceased’s father in-law Surendra Singh, mother in-law Gyanti Devi and sister in-law has been arrested in this connection. Police said that the deceased’s husband Omkar is evading arrest.
