Minister Leads Raids, Unearth Anganwadi Mess Not a ‘neta’ till 2010 Bihar assembly elections, state social welfare minister Parveen Amanullah is leading from the front and is busy streamlining the functioning of Anganwadi centres.
Sources said 80k and odd such women and child development centres are operational throughout the state. Since Dec 15 last year, regular raids have been on in places like Vaishali, Begusarai and Patna districts.
6 teams were sent out to different parts of the syaye to do a preliminary survey. Based on their feedback, the raids began and most of these raids are led by the minister herself, a senior official said and added the raids for now focus on the Take Home Rations [THR] initiative under the Integrated Child Development Scheme [ICSD].
Surprise and concern were writ here on the face of Amanullah as she shared some of her finding with TOI. The quantity of ration being given to the beneficiaries is less than the provision at almost every centre. This is totally rotten & corrupts department, Parveen Amanullah should post-mortem it completely and washed out the rotten eggs as soon as possible. Other-wise they will eat everything in the name of Women & Child welfare, very very nice and correct steps taken by the minister towards the cleasing of the Deptt. Highly appreciable measures adopted indeed by Parveen Amanullah.
