Comprehensive Information on Bihar 2010 Assembly Election, Politicians and General Bihar Politics

Bihar government on Saturday recommended a CBI probe into the January 4 murder of BJP MLA Raj Kishore Kesri in Purnia. A proposal to this effect was sent by the home department to the chief minister earlier in the day.

The CM gave his assent to the proposal which has been sent to the elite investigating agency. The decision came amid wide spread demand for recommending a CBI probe into the sensational murder of Kesri in full public view by a woman, Rupam Pathak, who stabbed the Purnia MLA to death.

The CBI will investigate the murder of PS case no 4/11 under sections-302/120[B] of IPC, DGP Neelmani said. Sushil Kumar Modi Deputy CM had come under sharp criticism from opposition parties and organizations which accused him of influencing the police inquiry by giving a clean chit to the slain MLA and questioning the character of Rupam who had hurled allegations of rape by the MLA and his aide Bipin Rai.

The political parties and women’s organizations were demanding the CM to drop him. “We don’t suspect the intention of the CM, but his deputy is issuing statements which are enough to influence the police inquiry,” said the leader of Opposition and senior RJD leader, Mr. Abdul Bari Siddiqui.

On Saturday, a number of women’s organizations took to streets and laid siege of the busy Dak Bungalow roundabout demanding Modi’s resignation and CBI inquiry. Impartial investigation by our elite agency CBI may be able to find out the truth behind, murder of BJP MLA Mr. Kesri and allegations of Rupam Pathak of long sexual harassment on her by the slain MLA & his aide Bipin.
