With 2014 Lok Sabha election in mind, the results of which may see Gandhi family icon Mr. Rahul Gandhi being catapulted to a new role, the state Congress has set out to strengthen its party organization.
As part of the exercise, party conveners will be appointed in each of the 40 Lok Sabah seats and 243 assembly seats, who will be entrusted with the task of holding party program in their areas. Public meetings will be held in the constituencies. Within three months, panchayat level Congress committees will be formed across the state with adequate representation to all sections of people.
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee [BPCC] president Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Qaiser said here on Sunday that a 15-member “Flagship monitoring” committee has been set up to review the implementation of Centrally-sponsored schemes and program in Bihar. Mr Qaiser also hailed Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi for a central grant of Rs 2k crore to Bihar, nod for opening model schools in 407 blocks, raising the daily wages under MNREGA by17-30% and reserving 25% seats for poor children in private schools. Along development schemes for publics, Congress party should try to consolidate secular forces together in tact because NDA already busy to play communal cards before 2014 general elections in the country.
